Banding Schedule
The schedule below shows the times and dates for the banding that will be done this summer. Please
scroll down past the schedule to read Mr. Chace's directions for finding the banding station, or click here

Nets remain open for six hours. First net run begins approximately 30 minutes after opening.
Location:
Bloomfield, VT. Black branch Road in the Nulhegan Division of the Silvio O. Conte National Wildlife Refuge.
Directions:
Drive east of Island Pond on Route 105 (watch for Moose!) past Refuge headquarters, after descending
the hill from the HQ slow when you approach a RR crossing immediately followed by a bridge over the Nulhegan River
on a sharp left bend in the road. Take an immediate left after the bridge. You will see the NWR sign on Stone Dam Rd.
Drive North on Stone Dam Rd (rough dirt)from RT 105 for 3 miles to wooden bridge over Black branch of the Nulhegan River.
Take the next left turn, about 200 meters beyond the bridge. Follow this road for approximately 1/4 mile to the banding station.
The "banding station" is the back of my green pickup truck with topper [see photo below]. Please approach slowly or park at the junction of
Stone Dam Road/Black branch Road and walk in. If no one is at the station when you arrive please wait until we return
from a net run. Please do not wander off the road looking for us as it will disturb the birds we are trying to capture.
